Eric Chatman, President of The Chatman Group, LLC, a consulting and financial strategy firm whose clients include non-profits, financial institutions, and government agencies, has a diverse professional background which includes private and quasi-public sector experience. His wide ranging experience includes corporate finance, capital markets, affordable housing finance, and strategy.
Prior to founding the firm, Mr. Chatman served in a number of senior level finance and general management roles domestically and internationally. This includes serving as President and Executive Director of the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority, Deputy Director and Chief Financial Officer of the Iowa Finance Authority, and Vice-President and Treasurer of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines. He also served as Bank Treasurer and Head of Finance for the Retail Segment of CIGNA Retirement (now Prudential Retirement).
Mr. Chatman's international experience includes serving as Division Manager in the treasury department at African Development Bank (ADB) in Abidjan, Cote D’Ivoire where he established, built, and managed a risk management, financial policy, reporting, and control team, and Vice-President, Corporate Finance at Databank Financial Services in Accra, Ghana, an investment banking and brokerage firm. He began his career at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York where he conducted capital market research.
Mr. Chatman serves on the Board of Directors of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston, Plan International USA, an international non-profit organization focused on child centered community development active in over 50 developing countries, and reSET, Social Enterprise Trust, a non-profit organization whose mission is to advance the social enterprise sector.
Mr. Chatman earned his MBA in Finance and Economics from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, an MA in International Affairs from the Elliott School of International Affairs at George Washington University, and his BA in Economics from Tufts University.
